First United Methodist Church of Lockhart and Disaffiliation from the UMC
First United Methodist Church of Lockhart has entered a six-month period of discernment regarding a possible future decision to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church and affiliate with another Methodist denomination, presumably the Global Methodist Church. No decision will be made until after the six-month period, and that will happen at a church conference, and voted on by all members present. Disaffiliation would require a 2/3 supermajority.
